2004 saw the next stage of the companies strategic plans to modernise.

The launch of our website on the 1st February marked the companies first major step into future developments.

The windows for M.B. Fathom arrived in March from Houdini Marine Windows and have been fitted and work to fit out the cabin  has commenced. With the increase of workers over the Easter, the boat will be completed painted externally in her final colours. The first photo's of her are available online now. To see click Here.

On the 21st May the M.B. Kings Reach was launched after completion of refurbishment work at Thameside Services, Greenhithe. Its first contract was carried out on Monday 24th May when the first large collier berthed on the new Deepwater berth at Tilbury Powerstation.

The Thames Barge Match took place on 10th July 2004. This was another successful year with 14 barges at the match and M.B. Avante on station as Duty boat. However the spotlight was taken away from the barges when the local paper mill caught fire during the late hours of the day.

September: Due to the sale and refurbishment of the Royal Terrace Pier to the Port of London Authority. We have had to move our operations temporarily to West Street Pier, while a more permanent berth can be found.

Survey work has been carried out on the Isle of Grain for a new Gas Jetty which is under construction.

M.B. Avante will be carrying out survey operations on the Kentish flats during late December in light of the construction of the new wind farms.
